Ferrari launched the 575 back in 2002 as a replacement for the 550 Maranello, In 2005 Ferrari then introduced the Superamerica as a limited run car of 559 examples. The Superamerica featured a retractable roof with electrochromic glass that lightens and darkens at the twist of a switch. The car was powered by a 540 bhp V12 engine and a 6 speed F-1 style gearbox or straight manual capable of 0- 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. This Pininfarina designed car is named after a very famous series of limited edition 12-cylinder models built by Ferrari between 1956 and 1961. When this car was launched Ferrari believed it to be the world’s fastest convertible reaching a top speed of 199 mph.
