Ferrari 288 GTO
Impeccable example of a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO. Covered only 9,300 miles from new; complete with Ferrari Classiche.
The Ferrari 288 GTO is one of the most infamous and recognisable prancing horses ever made and the first in the line of 'special series' production cars. Created as a homoligation version of a 308 GTB, the 288 was reportedly produced for Ferrari to compete in Group B racing, with only 272 examples being made from 1984-1986. However, Group B was scrapped and the GTO was never to compete. What was left behind is one of the most remarkable looking and performing road cars ever produced, with a 2.9-litre twin turbocharged V8, pushing out around 400bhp.
The car we are fortunate enough to offer has covered just 15,000km from new and is presented in perfect condition. This GTO is Rosso Corsa with the traditional Black interior with Red Daytona inserts on the seats. Furthermore, we also have extensive ownership and service history documenting the car's life and the vehicle comes with certification from the factory in the form of a Classiche File.
The 288 GTO will always be one of the most iconic Ferraris produced; the founding-father for models such as the F40, F50 and Enzo. However, as so few were produced, perfect examples such as this are rarely up for sale; a unique opportunity to invest in a piece of automotive history.
