Specification

In 2003 Mercedes joined forces with its then Formula One partner McLaren to create the SLR. McLaren drew a vast amount of technology from their Formula One efforts to create the SLR, this included a full carbon fibre monocoque chassis in order to maximise rigidity and strength whilst remaining as lightweight as possible. Production ran from 2003 to 2010 with just over 2,000 variants of the SLR being produced.

The SLR is powered by an AMG 5.5 litre Supercharged V8 that produces 616bhp at 6,500 rpm but it's the substantial 575 lbs/ft of torque from the Lysholm-type twin-screw Supercharger that truly defines the way the SLR accelerates down a road. 0-60 mph takes just 3.8 seconds with the SLR topping out at 208 mph.

The SLR featured highly effective carbon-ceramic brakes with an innovative "brake by wire' system and an active rear airbrake which meant the SLR could stop dead from 120 mph in less than 240 feet. The engine in the SLR was also mounted over 3 feet behind the front bumper, optimising weight distribution and giving the SLR its impressive long-nosed silhouette.

Produced in 2008, this SLR was specified in the iconic colour scheme of Crystal Laurite Silver over a Silver Arrow Red leather interior. It was delivered new to the UK via Mercedes-Benz Brooklands and sits today in fantastic condition, showing just 18,500 miles with just 2 previous keepers. The car has just been freshly serviced at Mercedes-Benz Brooklands and is ready to be enjoyed!

A rare collaboration between two iconic powerhouse manufacturers and a great opportunity to purchase what it still one of the finest machines for cross-continental mile-munching. Contact us now for more information or to arrange a viewing.
