Porsche 356 B Super Coupe
A Californian delivered Porsche 356 B Super Coupe, sitting in amazing restored condition.
Delivered new to famed Porsche dealership Competition Motors of Hollywood, Califronia, this stunning 356 Super is believed to have spent the entirety of its life in the Golden state (with the exception of the past 2 years in Dubai). Some years ago, Porsche specialist and owner of Deutsche Motor Sport in Concord, California, Tom Martenot, discovered this 356 in solid condition and took it on as a personal project.
Unlike many examples, this Super Coupe retained its matching-numbers engine, transmission and body panels, and thus was an ideal candidate for restoration. When the Karmann bodywork was prepared for paint, it was finished in Smyrna Green, a refreshing period colour that perfectly suits the lines and petite scale of the 356. To compliment the exterior finish, the cockpit was upholstered in beautiful cognac leather with corduroy seat inserts and oatmeal German square weave carpets. Similarly, the engine bay and other opening compartments are nicely detailed and display correct components.
In a nod to Porsche's competition heritage, this B Coupe was thoughtfully equipped with GT-style bumper trim, elegant Marchal driving lights and unadorned wheels. In keeping with this sporting appearance, the interior is fully outfitted with headrests, competition-style lap belts, Heuer rally clocks and a beautiful wood-rimmed Les Leston steering wheel. Beyond these sought-after additions, this 356 is offered with the original drivers manual and spare wheel.
Today, the Porsche is in impressive condition and has been driven less than 2,000 Km since restoration. Whether the new owner is in search of a well- rounded rally car or a competitive concours entrant, this Super Coupe offers all the qualities one looks for in a 356.
